Your driving licence is as important as your residence permit if you drive a car. Not having your driving license can land you a hefty fine, the same goes for an expired driving license. Hence, you should try your best to renew your driving license a couple of months before it expires. Remember, the process is very easy and doesn't take much time. Stay safe!
Pre-Requisite: What you need to be able to Renew you Driving License
Now through the online process it is very easy for someone to renew the license once it expires. The concerned person should have:
- His fingerprint's must be enrolled in MOI database (this is usually be default for men)
- Have paid the renewal fee
- All traffic violation tickets have paid in full before you attempt to renew your license.
Renewal fee of driving license
To renew you driving licence the fee is SR 40 per year. You can pay the fee annually from internet banking or through ATM. So that they won’t have to go through the same process again next year many choose to pay the collective fee of many years.
After making the payment, print the payment receipt. Always make copies of any official document just for record purposes.
Renewal of Driving License from Abshir account
- Login to MOI with your Abshir account.
- Select the option for renewal of traffic license from the traffic tabs on e-services page.
- Fill the form with your desired tenure depending on the renewal fee you have paid.
- Submit the form and take its print to the Muroor office with all documents. The documents needed to renew the license:
- Copy of iqama
- Original license and its copy
- Payment receipt
- Passport size photographs
- On submitting all these documents along with the printed request form, you will be handed over your renewed license.
