IQAMA LOST

Iqama Lost--If you have lost your iqama, getting a new one will be a little difficult. First try to find it in every possible place where it can be before applying for a new one. In case you can’t find it anywhere and you are sure that either it was stolen or lost then use the following procedure without delay.

Reporting an Iqama Lost

  • Report that your iqama was lost within 24 hours. As per new government law if you report within 24 hours of loosing your iqama you will not be penalized.
Pro Tip: It is essential that you inform you government relations or sponsor as to the loss.
  • You will have to go to the police station and submit a written report in Arabic to the police stating that you have lost your iqama / muqeem card. To do this you will have to take someone from your company with you (ie. Sponsor or GRO).
  • The written report should be on your company’s letterhead and should explain how and where you lost your iqama.
  • Someone from your company will then have to visit Jawazat with two passport size photographs, copy of lost iqama, copy of passport, receipt of lost iqama payment fine and form.
  • If all goes in your favour, it usually takes a day for you to get your new iqama.
If you have less than three months in your Iqama being expired you should just renew your Iqama. One stone two birds!
