Dependents Iqama
If your family (wife and children) are there with you on a permanent visa as well, it is MUST to get their muqeem or iqama card made too.
Dependents Iqama Required Documents
- Original and photocopy of the passport including the visa page for all the dependents whose residence permit is needed.
- Two Passport size color photograph with white background for each dependent. Guideline for photographs can be read here:
- A photocopy of the Muqeem or Iqama Card for the head of the family.
- Each one of the family member will have to get their medical examination tests from the state approved medical centers. Their reports will be sent online to the MOI database within the next two days. Children, however, are exempted from these examination tests. Instead they would require a pediatric checkup, including measuring their weight and height. The tests are standard and should cost no more than 130 SAR. Reports will be sent directly to the Ministry and does not needed to be picked up.
- For children born in Saudi Arabia, you can read the detailed guide:
- The limit for a dependent is 25 years. After this he must either start working, hence get his own iqama or must get a final exit. For sons or daughters above 18 years of age, a study certificate issued by the University with its Arabic translation will be required. Residence Permit fee of SAR500 per year shall be charged for each dependent above 18 years of age.
- If the religion of wife or any dependent is different than the head of the family, the applicable residence permit fee shall be charged which will be SAR500 per year.
Health insurance of dependents
- Once done with the above, the sponsor/employer will have to apply for the health insurance of each family member too. For this they will require the border numbers on their passports.
Always scan a copy of the visa and entry stamp on arrival for the first time to Saudi Arabia.
Submission of dependents Iqama forms
- After this you will have to fill and submit the dependents iqama form. The form is easily available online. Once you have downloaded and filled it carefully, submit it to your company so that the process can be carried forward.
- Here the company will act as a kafeel and its stamp is compulsory for the issuance of iqama for all of your family members. Other than this no further attestation is required for this form.
Is your health insurance a compulsion for your family’s Iqama?
Yes. Take note that when applying for your family’s Iqama your health insurance is properly updated in the MOI database. If it’s not, wait for it to be updated or else it will result in the rejection of your application.
