Is registering your passport important?

This is a rule in Saudi Arabia that if your new passport is not registered in Jawazat office it will be considered invalid by Saudi authorities. Every time you get a new passport for yourself or any of your dependents, it needs to be registered the process of registration is called Naqal Maloomat.

Charges to get the new passport registered

This process is free of cost and it is usually your company who gets it done for you and your dependents as well. Though a mandoob might charge a service fee of upto 50 SAR for getting the work done.

Process for Naqal Maloomat

Fill the form available at Jawazat Office. You can also get this form from your company’s HR.
Walk into the Jawazat Office authorized to perform this task with copies of new and old passport and iqama. If you are getting it done for your dependents you will need copies of their new and old passports and iqama.
If all goes well it would be done in a few minutes only.

Checking the status of Naqal Maloomat

You can login to the MOI website with your Abshir account and check whether the information is updated correctly or not.
